Welcome to the Tactile Revolution, both the movement and the organization.  Here you will find information and contacts related to the forthcoming widespread availability of low-cost refreshable tactile displays.

Tactile displays are replacements for screen displays. Blind people use them to to get information from their computer. So rather than reading a screen display with their eyes they read their tactile display with their fingertips.

You may find more here than you want to know about the technical aspects of refreshable tactile displays. That is an inevitable result of providing a comprehensive reference, so we won’t apologize for it. We will state our commitment to making the information we present here as clear and concise as possible. If there is something that does not make sense to you please let us know and we will be happy to improve the presentation of the information.

New visitors are encouraged to check out the Glossary, the Chronology of Technology, and the Project History, all of which provide some background and reference information.

Please be aware that as of 2010-11-15
